A journey through his life and work

The start of our tour is in the Largo de Misericórdia, more commonly know as the Largo de São Roque, across from the Bairro Alto. On this tour of around 3 hours we will visit the beauty of Lisbon from viewpoints, the typical character of the Bairro Alto and the cosmopolitan nature of the Chiado. This tour is the point of departure for a chronological succession of writers among our anthology that enlightened, such as Fernando Pessoa. This tour is about the most important romantic figure in Portuguese literature, Almeida Garrett. We will mention his many facets: literature, journalism, theater, military, education and politics. We will examine the life of this versatile writer and discover the places where he lived, where he wrote, where he socialized and the places that he helped create. We will finish our tour in the central square of the Rossio.

O início do percurso é feito no Largo da Misericórdia, mais vulgarmente conhecido por Largo de S. Roque, em frente do Bairro Alto. Neste itinerário de cerca de 3 horas visitaremos a beleza de Lisboa por miradouros, a tipicidade do Bairro Alto, o cosmopolitismo do Chiado. Este itinerário é o ponto de partida para toda uma sucessão cronológica de escritores que culmina, na nossa panóplia disponível, com Fernando Pessoa. Este percurso é o da maior figura romântica da literatura portuguesa, Almeida Garrett, nas suas variadíssimas vertentes: a literária, a jornalista, a cénica, a militar, a política e a educacional. Vasculharemos a vida deste escritor multifacetado e descobriremos os locais onde viveu, onde escreveu, onde conviveu, locais que ajudou a criar até acabarmos o percurso na central praça do Rossio.

Ce circuit part du Largo da Misericórdia, également appelé Largo de São Roque, au Bairro Alto. Pendant près de 3 heures, nous allons admirer Lisbonne depuis les belvédères, découvrir le typique Bairro Alto et le Chiado cosmopolite. Almeida Garrett est le premier de toute la succession chronologique d’écrivains que nous vous proposons de découvrir. C’est aussi la plus grande figure romantique de la littérature portugaise dont nous allons connaître les différentes facettes : écrivain, journaliste, homme de théâtre, militaire, politique et enseignant. Nous fouillerons la vie de cet écrivain aux multiples facettes et découvrirons les lieux où il a vécu et écrit, les lieux qu’il a aidé à créer, qui nous conduiront au point central, le Rossio.

Ein Streifzug durch sein Leben und Werk

Der Spaziergang beginnt am Largo da Misericórdia, auch als Largo São Roque bekannt, im Bairro Alto Viertel. In diesem circa 3 Stündigen Spaziergang werden wir die Schönheit Lissabons entdecken. Wir werden ihnen einige Aussichtspunkte, das typische Bairro Alto Viertel und den kosmopolitischen Chiado zeigen. Dieser Spaziergang ist der Anfangspunkt für eine chronologische Abfolge von verschiedenen Schriftstellern, die mit dem modernsten Schriftsteller Fernando Pessoa endet. In dem Spaziergang werden wir über die bedeutendste Persönlichkeit des romantischen Zeitalters in der portugiesischen Literatur erzählen. Wir werden Ihnen Almeida Garrett in seinen verschiedenen Aspekten vorstellen als Literat; als Journalist, als Theatermann. In seiner Militärkarriere, in seiner politischen Laufbahn und Tätigkeiten im Erziehungswesen. Wir werden das Leben dieses vielseitigen Schriftstellers kennenlernen und die Orte entdecken, wo er gelebt, geschrieben hat, wo er eingekehrt ist. Schließlich werden wir unseren Streifzug am zentralgelegenen Rossio Platz beenden.
